Easy Vegan Dalgona Coffee Recipe with Low Cal Version
Dalgona coffee has become one of the biggest food trends of COVID-19 quarantine. Haha, that and baking banana bread! If you’re not familiar with this new coffee drink that’s been blowing up social media, it’s basically a beverage made by whipping equal parts of instant coffee, granulated sugar, and hot water until it becomes floofy, and then adding it to cold milk.
I finally tried dalgona coffee recently, and it’s soooo friggin good—totally worth the hype!
Dalgona Coffee
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp instant coffee
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar (You can use a sugar substitute as long as it’s granulated. I highly recommend using xylitol – it cuts the calories in half, has a 1:1 ratio, and is just as sweet!)
- 2 tbsp boiling hot water
- non-dairy milk (I like to use unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
Whisk your ingredients together with a hand mixer until it starts to turn into a cream (~2 minutes). Pour your non-dairy choice of milk in a cup (2/3 full) and top off with your whipped coffee. Badda bing, badda boom! You can also use the cream on top of brownies, ice cream, you name it! Enjoy!
Who else is obsessed with the fun coffee drink? xx
